Richard Folly is the founder and CEO of African Geospace, an aerospace company on a mission to  harness the vast potential of Space for a better life on Earth, empowering individuals and organizations across Africa to make informed decisions that drive sustainable development and innovation.

Richard’s entrepreneurship journey began over ten years ago. He contributed to projects across Africa, United States, Europe, and Asia, and is passionate about leveraging science, technology, and entrepreneurship to address global pressing challenges. Richard has collaborated with number of organizations, Ministries, and NASA, where he worked on disaster risk management and environmental monitoring.

Folly believes in open innovation and creative solutions. He co-founded the OpenStreetMap Togo Community back in 2013, and is involved in other open data initiatives, including training journalists and civil society stakeholders on leveraging data storytelling and civic tech for positive impact.

A Geography graduate from Université de Lomé, Richard is leveraging space technology to transform how communities leverage satellite data to address pressing challenges and contribute to a more informed and resilient continent.
